It's a cute little game, I like it the art and presentation is nice but it's not very satisfying to play. The game is just too hard. I don't think it should be super easy just a bit easier. The power bar just moves way to fast, it feels like complete chance where the ball is going to go. It feels like you can't really make any progress in the game.

I'd say if it was just a bit easier it would be more fun, nudes aren't enough to keep people playing.

Dezue responds:

Heyho, JoSilver!
Thank you for playing! I agree with what you (and others) said about the difficulty, that's why the next update will have that adjusted AND more nudes :D Better safe than sorry, right? ;)
Stay funky,
Dez

Without a doubt this one heck of a novel and competent game. When it comes to capturing the essence of RE4 This game succeeds in spades. All of the villagers are immediately recognizable and accounted for and for a game jam game it's also mighty darn impressive. That being said, It feels as if more though was put into the aesthetics of the game than the design of the gameplay.

For the most part enemies are largely nicely designed, the female villagers are easy cannon fodder, the pitch fork dudes are a nice subversion of the established rules. The sickle guys are a good obstacle on paper.

The problem arises from the level design's interpretation of challenge. Enemies are largely placed in a way the doesn't provide an interesting challenge so much as its meant to maximize difficulty. Challenge and difficulty are not the same thing. I would consider headbutting a brick wall as hard as I can to be difficult but I wouldn't call it challenging.

Enemies are placed on more than one occasion in such a way that I am convinced there is no way to proceed with out taking any damage. This is compounded by the fact that the sickle guys take too many shots to kill before they start attacking again.

And the final boss, I managed to beat it, but nothing about the fight felt satisfying. The guy just mindless charges at you and barely gives you an opening to shoot him, I don't feel as if I figured out how to beat him, more that I was stubborn to find a way to reliably get a shot or two on him before he turned around.

All of these things are pretty terrible especially with discussing a game that wants to be a demake of RE4. RE4 was a pretty hard game but not too difficult, it was fair in it's challange. RE4 accomplished this not by making the enemies easy but by giving the player choices in how they dealt with every situation. you could go head shots or you could shoot them in the knee. From there you could melee the ganado or you could use the enemies pain state run away or past them.

One way that this could have been incorporated into the game is by say letting the player crouch. Imagine that the sickle guys when shot low fell over, Or if the boss would move the chain saw up and down depending on whether you were ducking or not giving you a small opening to to damage and make the player feel smart for figuring that out.

This is nice game but it's just too frustrating for no good reason. And this is come from some who loves games like contra and castlevania.

Gypopothomas responds:

Thanks for taking the time to write up the feedback, man! I'll have a think about some of this stuff n' make some changes.

WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU PEOPLE TAKING ABOUT!!!!

This was a nice little game. It was made in only 72 hours... YOU TRY DOING THAT!
And I have and It wasn't easy!

Der-Metzgermeister... WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU TAKING ABOUT DIRECT X 11 FOR THIS IS FLASH, DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT IS!!!!???!?!?11

Any ways the game is nice. My only really complaint is that I think the controls should be reversed. use A and D to move and the arrow keys to melt stuff. or atleast give the option to switch the controls.

molkman responds:

Don't be hatin', guys.

Nice.

I can't say how much of this is your work and which is part of the game factory because I've never tried it but But this can never replace true coded games or atleast when it comes to people who know AS.

If an artist wants to make a game with out too much knowledge of AS this is definitely a good tool.

The reason AS was first introduced to flash was to give a developer or animator total control over flash, and that's what AS does. It's not a matter of can flash do it, it's how can you get flash to do it.

DavidXN responds:

Certainly it isn't going to replace Actionscript - you get an SWF out of it at the end, but the process of building games/applications in TGF2 is very different.

None of what's demonstrated in this submission is 'default' for TGF2, it's all written from the ground up (not 'coded', as it uses an event sheet rather than code) - it's also worth mentioning that the paid version of the software can do much more than the free one.

good... with issues...

Well... the puzzles are too easy in this one...

there is one major problem with this game... and I'm not being picky.

I got myself in to a postion where... I was going to die with a single hit and i had to kill 7 aliens to advance. Because you have to zoom in and then shoot and then zoom out to hit the other ones it require in human dexterity to get past that point without getting hit, to top it off I ran put of health packs.

I completly gave up on the game because of it sure if I was't such a position I would been fine but other then that is was still to easy...

Psionic3D responds:

Part of playing a game is in the challenge surely? and I have tried to encourage multiple plays by adding the awards system that rewards you with a load of evidence files upon completion!!

By trying again you may find/pickup 'more' health packs, do better in early rounds and have to use 'less' health packs (thus having some left over for the final showdown) and be able to complete it.

Some of the aliens are also positioned randomly so its possible in the next round they may be grouped together better and thus easier to fit in one scope!

I dont see it as a 'major problem' I see it as practice makes perfect, the better you get at the shooting element the less health packs you will use, you're not gonna be 100% headshots all the way on your first go are you ;-)

Anyway, thanks for playing and I hope you consider giving it another shot!!

Nice but,,,

Your unable to technicly replay without closing the game... Which I think should have been fixed before it was submitted!

Either way nice job.

Magical-Zorse responds:

Whoa, I totally didn't notice that, thanks for pointing it out.

I'll give you a 2...

Because it works but come on man at least make it end at some point like if you get 10000 gay porn to the barney theme song starts playing or something.

ChemicalVengence responds:

You do. You didn't get a high enough gay porn(points?), try again.

Nicely done but...

It's a little hard to tell how close you have to be to grab the building, try to make it looser so it's easier to climb, Also I've never played rampage before so this game was new to me and the instruction could have been a little bit more explanatory, it took me a while to figure it out what I was supposed to do. the graphics were nice but the animations could have been better. Also some music would be a nice touch. When all is said and done, nice job!

NG-Programmer responds:

is it so hard to use the arrow keys and spacebar for you?

LOL!

Did you know that Chuck Noris invented all 32 letters of the alphabet.
We can only pronounce 26 of them! XD

StillBeatingPictures responds:

you speak the truth!

Very Helpfull.

For those who don't understand this whole system should really look at this!
I see an abusive reviwe, FLAG! YAY!!!
thank you for the lesson.

RohantheBarbarian responds:

That's the plan! Sadly this will probably be forgotten about in a few days since it got nothing in terms of recognition, so spread the word!

STEP RIGHT UP! ENJOY THE SHOW!
